This beautiful bag was made in the early 20th century.
The body of the bag and handle are natural hessian, which have been carefully hand embroidered with an intricate design worked in wool in vibrant shades. It has a latch handle and tiny hinges on the frame. It has been fully lined with beautiful silk, which has been edged with metal braid.
A wonderful bag which would have taken hours to create.

Condition
Fair to good, considering the age. The base fabric and frame are in good condition, strong and without issue. However, there are some sections of the wool design which have worn away, so please inspect the photographs carefully to make sure you're happy with the condition. Please also note there are some small holes in the silk lining, but these aren't seen when worn.
Even though not perfect, it is a fabulous example with lots of life left in it.
