Made in the late 1930's or early 1940's, this charming piece is made from inky black lacquered straw.
Quite a flat laying piece, it has a close fitting crown with a sweeping brim that crosses over in the back. Around the inner edge of the brim there is a black grosgrain ribbon and on the side of the hat there are a pair of bows - one black one pink.

Condition
Very good with some minor points to note;
- there is discolouration on the pink grosgrain
- when you run your hand over the straw, there are a couple of rough places
- slightly rough straw in the back where a hat pin has been frequently used
