Made in the 1940's it is labelled 'Jaunty Junior' and is made from medium weight pure wool with a very pale brown base and a very fine check print in brown.
It features a nipped waist, with double button fastening, strong shoulder pads and is fully lined with mid brown crepe.
A beautifully tailored piece.
Measurements
Please note all measurements have been taken on the outside of the jacket. It will fit a 36"/37" bust but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 19"
Flat waist 15.5" with the buttons at maximum stretch, you could shorten the thread holding the buttons together, thus making it smaller at the waist
Shoulders between sleeves 15"
Underarm sleeve length 17.5"
Length 25.5"
Condition
Wounded but wearable with the following points to note;
- it has an odd button, which I didn't spot until I was measuring it - the odd one is on the left faux pocket flap and is a really good match, but it has a green tinge to it
- discolouration on the inner collar
- 5 small darns across the piece, sadly because the design is so small they are visible
- a few light marks and then a large, 1cm mark on the cuff end
Although it isn't perfect, its a really pretty jacket which has plenty of life left in it.
