This reproduction dress has been made from original 1940's silk in a charming novelty print of white polka dot bows on a royal blue ground.
I didn't make this piece, it was made by another seamstress and was enjoyed by the customer before they sold it to me. It has been made to a high standard and has been over-locked on many of the inner seams to prevent the silk from fraying.
Quite simple in design the bodice fastens with mother-of-pearl buttons and has a smart little collar. The skirt has broad pleats and a lovely fullness. The fabric is so light and beautifully soft to the touch.
The piece is quite long in the bodice, it was a custom made piece, and has no side opening.
Measurements
It is not meant to be close fitting and has no side opening. It is meant to be worn loose and to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Structurally very good with some minor points to note;
- I noted 7 pinholes when holding the piece up to the light
- the hem has been let down to the maximum at some point and there is a very faint mark showing where the hem originally was
- there is a very faint mark on the front of the skirt near the original hemline
- there is a slightly darker mark on the back of the skirt
Has been washed, pressed and is ready to wear.
PLEASE NOTE THE DRESS IS HEAVILY PINNED ON THE MANNEQUIN. PHOTO 2 SHOWS THE DRESS WITHOUT PINS.
