These are a super cute pair of sandals.
A great Make Do and Mend piece of footwear from the 1940's, we had the pleasure of purchasing these from the original owner's granddaughter.
The upper is made from crochet and the soles and inners were available to purchase in the 1940's. The sole is totally flat and the crochet uppers have been sewn on.
I've seen examples of these in magazines from the 1940's but never a surviving pair from that time.
Measurements
They are narrow and will fit a UK size 5. They widest point of your foot, when standing, can be no bigger than 3".
Length on the sole 10"
Widest point on the sole 3.25"
Condition
Very good. The crochet has some very minor discolouration in parts and there is some wear to the soles. I cannot guarantee that these are actually wearable for anything other than sitting looking fabulous so being sold for collection or display rather than hard wear.
