This is an utterly charming dress and such a stylish piece.
Made in the late 1930's from dark blue silk, it has a timeless polka dot print set against swirls of concentric circles.
It features a pin tucked bodice, which fastens with two-tone buttons, three quarter length sleeves with rouleau loop detail on the ends, a fourteen panelled skirt and neat collar, it is finished off perfectly with a smart belt. There is a metal side zip.
Absolutely perfect summer frock.
Measurements
The bodice is gathered at the bust and isn't meant to be close fitting. The shoulders are narrow. The belt has holes from 32"-33.5" and there is a popper set to 33.5" waist, however, the dress is shown on a much smaller mannequin and looks fabulous. In my opinion, I believe the dress was made for up to a 36-30-38. I think someone has cut off some of the hem, which wasn't uncommon, and made the matching belt to the size they needed. Tweaking the belt by adding more holes will mean this will work on a smaller waist than it is currently set to. To ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar item you already own.

Condition
Good with just a few minor points to note;
- the hem has been raised and dropped at some point as there are some stitch marks evident when the dress is held up to the light
- there are two darns, one on the left hip beside the zip and one on the left sleeve end - see photos
- there are three faint marks on the left sleeve end - see photo
- buckle and buckle pin show wear
